This weekend’s low was a day trip to Mini and Maxi Moo’s Adventure Land in Morpeth. What a disappointment (see the tripadvisor reviews if you don’t believe me!). It was that bad that I’m trying to rework my memory of it – so that it doesn’t count as my first official farm trip of the year. I did get to take some pictures of some happy animal faces tho. I like big, happy animal grins. And Winston Churchill quotes.
Specifically, these are the top 10 things that every farm should have;
- Animal feed – there’s nothing better than goat froth all over your hands in the cold, winter months
- Homemade cakes – nom nom nom
- Animal petting (carefully-supervised-by-experienced-staff-animal-petting, that is)
- Picnic barns where you’re allowed to bring your own food, sit on hay and SAVE MONEY
- A shop that sells pencils with the farm’s name on for for less than one British pound (for my collection)
- Happy animals (boring stuff like spacious enclosures/ nutritious food/ smiley faces are in this category)
- A zoo license – so they can include ‘unusual’ animals. Mostly meerkats – maybe some wallabies – but definitely meerkats
- Cafes that have funny animal themed names
- Puns – farmtastic fun headlines
- Finally homemade jam (or preserves if you’re posh) on sale – preferably lemon curd, please
